MEET THE TEAM: KATIE MARKHAM

Meet Katie, our Digital Account Executive and recent Apprentice graduate! With a degree in photography and a love for organisation, Katie brings a creative and detail-oriented approach to our team. A dog mom and fitness enthusiast, she’s always up for a challenge!

Give us a quick intro to who you are…

Hey, I’m Katie! I’m a Digital Account Executive, (and was once an apprentice) at BBJ&K.

How did you come to work at BBJ&K?

I finished by Photography degree in lockdown and was very limited on what to do next.  It wasn’t long after that I was searching for jobs in the advertising industry and came across an apprenticeship for an Advertising & Media executive… and now here I am!

Describe your job in 3 words…

Lots of snacks

What’s something that’s surprised you about working at BBJ&K?

Probably being exposed to so many opportunities so fast. Even though I was an apprentice, it didn’t put any limitations on being client facing and going to client pitches. The amount you can learn in a short space of time is insane.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Being a dog mom is my whole personality, so you’ll always find me with my dog. I also dabble in the gym and I’m a big family person. Baby-sitting duty is always on the cards.

What are you putting into Room 101?

People who are last minute. I love a to do list and I CANNOT function without one. Imagine the stress.

Tell us something we don’t already know…

I’m a twin!

Who on the team would you most like to swap places with for the day?

I’m going to have to go with Ruby (our resident Aussie). Purely for the Australian accent.

What’s one website you couldn’t do your job without?

Asana to keep me sane. Chat GPT to save me time. Canva to keep me creative. I couldn’t choose one!!

How do you describe what you do for a living to your family and friends?

I go for “digital marketing” if I’m keeping it quick. Otherwise, I start with “you know when you search something on Google and you get an advert at the top of your page? Yes, that could be from me.”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

My morning cup of tea.
